James Simpson has a strong background in acquisition and business development. James is currently the Vice President of the Department of Defense & Contracts at Longevity Consulting, where they provide strategic guidance and assists in business development. James also serves as the President and CEO of JES Acquisition and Business Solutions, LLC, a consulting firm focused on providing acquisition support and business development to small and mid-size organizations.
Prior to their current roles, James served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Acquisition (DASA) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where they were responsible for the entire acquisition lifecycle and managed a workforce of over 120 personnel. James also served as the Component Acquisition Executive/Senior Procurement Executive at the Defense Intelligence Agency, where they were in charge of the agency's acquisition, procurement, and program management systems.
Before their roles in the government, James had a distinguished career in the US Army, where they served as the Commanding General of the Army Contracting Command. In this role, they led a diverse workforce and managed a large number of contract actions worldwide.
Overall, James Simpson has extensive experience in acquisition, business development, and leadership roles in both the public and private sectors.
James Simpson has a Master's of Science degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. James also holds a Master's of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF), as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Political Science from Lander University. James Simpson has also earned a certification in "Mastering Business Development" from MBDi | Mastering Business Development, LLC, which was obtained in December 2022.
