Ira Smelkinson

Ira Smelkinson is currently the Managing Director at Loop Capital, a position held since 2022. Previously, they served as an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley from 1999 to 2022 and held the role of ED at Merrill Lynch from 1986 to 1998. Ira began their career as an Accountant at Arthur Andersen from 1980 to 1984. They earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago between 1984 and 1986 and a BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland from 1976 to 1980.
