Steve Johanson

Steve Johanson began their work experience in 2009 at Van Wasteco as a Maintenance Technician. In this role, they focused on day-to-day maintenance, installing and commissioning new installations, troubleshooting machinery, and redesigning production processes to increase efficiency.

In 2013, Steve joined Ewos Canada as a Lead Maintenance Technician. Here, they continued their work in day-to-day maintenance and also took on responsibilities such as creating more efficient packaging methods and installing safety devices.

Steve then moved to Bimbo Canada in 2014, starting as a Maintenance Engineer Leadhand. Steve was responsible for daily maintenance of various machinery, following preventative maintenance systems, troubleshooting quickly to minimize downtime and waste, and entering information into maintenance software.

Within Bimbo Canada, Steve progressed to become a Maintenance Supervisor in 2020, managing a team of maintenance staff and overseeing budgeting, capital projects, and plant upgrades. In 2021, they were promoted to Senior Maintenance Supervisor, where they continued managing the team and leading them through empowerment and skill development.

Most recently, Steve joined Loop Energy Inc. in 2022 as the Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Manager. Their responsibilities in this role include maintaining facilities and equipment, although no specific start and end dates were provided.

From 2016 to 2022, Steve attended Valley first and obtained a Level 2 First Aid degree.

In 2014 and 2015, they studied Power Engineering at BCIT School of Business + Media.

Between 2011 and 2013, Steve pursued a Millwright Red Seal degree with a field of study in Millwright Red Seal at BCIT School of Business + Media.

In 2008 and 2009, they focused on Carpentry/Carpenter at BCIT School of Business + Media.

Steve completed their high school education at Gleneagle Secondary School from 2004 to 2008. Steve was recognized as a Grade 12 Honour Roll Student.
