Richard Sands

Richard Sands has worked in the tech industry for over 15 years. In 2005, they began their career at Pixa Prints as an Engineering Manager and Technical Team Lead. Richard was responsible for the build and launch of Pixa Prints in the UK/Ireland market, leading the strategy of the product and creating a multi-country/currency e-commerce platform. In 2016, they moved to The Navigators Ltd as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2017, they joined CarsGuide as a Head of Engineering and Technical Lead. In this role, they were responsible for leading the technology team for two leading brands, CarsGuide and Autotrader. Richard also implemented Kubernetes on AWS, CircleCI pipelines, Docker for all new platforms, and reduced build time from 45 minutes to 5 minutes. In 2020, they became the Chief Technology Officer at Archistar.ai. In 2021, they moved to Lyka Pet Food as Head of Engineering, where they helped deliver human-grade meals on a subscription to dogs in Australia. Currently, they are the Head of Engineering at Loopit.co, a SaaS platform that enables car dealerships, OEMs and other emerging car subscription providers to offer their own vehicles for subscription.

Richard Sands attended Banbridge Academy from 1999 to 2005. In 2005, they obtained a Microsoft Certified Professional certification from Microsoft. In 2017, they obtained a Certified Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance.
