Since 1999, Lou's Place has been a dedicated daytime drop-in center exclusively for women. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment through holistic care within a non-judgmental community. We focus on building trusting relationships and offering person-centered, innovative support programs to enhance individual wellbeing.

At Lou's Place, we maintain a low-barrier approach, ensuring that support is available even for women actively struggling with drug or alcohol use or presenting mental health issues. Whether you need assistance or simply a safe space, Lou's Place is here for all women.

Our services and support is varied but includes:

A Safe Space: - Women can relax and spend time in a welcoming environment and don't need to have a reason to come to Lou's Place, they can just come and hang out there. 

Supportive Staff:  Speak to skilled staff for assistance with issues like homelessness, domestic violence, or financial hardship.

Activities and Community-  Engage in various activities and connect with other women.

Basic Needs: - Access showers, laundry facilities, and nutritious meals for breakfast and lunch.

We also offer specialised programs, such as:

Connecting Through Change: Support for women who have experienced domestic or family violence.

Always Mum: Assistance for mothers and grandmothers with children in care.

Crisis Support: Help with documentation, navigating housing or other difficult systems, and addressing financial hardship or other crises.
