AP Fritts

Co-Founder, CTO at Lovebug

AP Fritts has a diverse work experience across various companies and roles. They started their career as a Web Developer at NanoSperse, where they created web presence and implemented e-commerce functionality. They then worked at Raytheon as a Software Engineering Intern and later as a Software Engineer, where they contributed to different projects.

In 2006, AP Fritts founded the oSTEM chapter at The Ohio State University, serving as its President until 2008. They then joined Raytheon again and held various Software Engineer positions, including Software Engineer I and Software Engineer II in different divisions.

After Raytheon, AP Fritts worked as a Software Engineer at Bonfire, focusing on developing and maintaining their service offering for small businesses. They also founded their own company, AP Endeavors, where they developed and brought to market Dot Manager, a domain name registration and DNS management system.

In 2013, AP Fritts became the Vice President of Out in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (oSTEM), a non-profit professional association for LGBTQ+ people in the STEM community. They held this role until 2017.

In 2014, AP Fritts joined Box as a Senior Software Engineer on the Webapp Performance Team, improving the customer experience by resolving performance bottlenecks. They later became a Technical Lead for the Notification Team, designing and implementing a new Notification Service. They also served as the Co-chair of the Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) and eventually transitioned into the role of Software Engineering Manager for the Messaging Team, responsible for critical messaging services.

In 2020, AP Fritts ventured into entrepreneurship again, co-founding Lovebug, an iOS/Android app that helps parents with their children's sleep routines and development.

Currently, AP Fritts is an Engineering Manager at Box, leading the macOS Desktop Engineering team, focused on building Box Drive and improving user access and management of cloud data seamlessly.

Throughout their career, AP Fritts has gained expertise in various technologies, including Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, AWS SES, and Apple/Google push services. They have also shown a commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion and advocacy within the tech industry.

AP Fritts obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. This educational achievement took place from 2004 to 2009.
