Lovepacs was born in 2011 out of a desire of a group of  neighbors to demonstrate the joy of serving one another out of  love, with the goal of addressing food insecurity of children in  their community. 
Their local elementary school counselor explained that school  holidays often meant days without meals for students  dependent on the free-lunch program. They learned that food  scarcity in many homes was real and that children right in their  own community went hungry. 
This grim reality motivated a call to action to people in the  community to come together and provide for each other. Nearly  200 children were fed through Lovepacs that first year. 
As of 2020, Lovepacs is serving over 6,000 children in over 225  schools in 10 Texas school districts. Over 3.5 million meals have  been served since its conception.
