As the first rays of the sun begin to illuminate the skies above Mykonos, clusters of bright magenta flowers can be seen sprouting between the rocks, in search of the life-giving sunlight. This eye-catching beauty is the sunset rockrose: a low spreading, evergreen shrub, originating from dry, rocky parts of the Mediterranean. During the flowering period, the plant is filled with flowers whose petals are connected to bright yellow stamens. This harmonious blend resembles a vibrant sunset, from which the name is derived.

There are not many flowering shrubs that can tolerate such harsh conditions and yet continue to produce blossom for such an extended period. This is why the drought-tolerant sunset rockrose can be a source of inspiration, as it teaches us to keep growing and moving forward despite all difficulties. We ourselves decided to name our hotel’s Sunset Rock restaurant and Rockrose spa after this nature’s tiny miracle!

As for Lovia, you can already guess the story behind the name. It’s all about the driving force behind everything we do: Our love for Mykonos. Our love for nature. And, of course, our love for outstanding hospitality.

Beyond its exquisite amenities and services, LOVIA embodies the essence of Mykonos – a place where every sunset paints the sky with hues of romance, and where laughter echoes through its narrow alleyways. As the sun dips into the horizon, the hotel becomes a place where souls connect, friendships are forged, and love stories begin. Guests arrive as travelers and depart as part of a tapestry of cherished memories, forever entwined with the magic of Mykonos and the love-filled hospitality of LOVIA.
