Christopher Pels, Ed.D.

Christopher Pels, Ed.D. has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Christopher currently holds the position of Vice President of People Ops at Lovingly since May 2022. Prior to this, they were a Contributing Faculty member at Adtalem Global Education starting from March 2022.

From 2013 to 2022, Christopher worked at Family Services where they held the position of Vice President for Human Resources, Risk Management, and Organizational Development. During their tenure, they played a vital role in transitioning the organization's operations from in-person to remote during the pandemic. Christopher also developed and updated COVID-19 protocols and implemented strategic changes to the medical plans, including the introduction of consumer-driven healthcare plans, health reimbursement accounts, and wellness programs.

Christopher's experience at Marist College as an Adjunct Professor lasted from July 2014 to March 2020. Similarly, they served as an Adjunct Instructor at Keuka College from February 2012 to June 2013. In both roles, they were responsible for teaching courses and actively engaged in course development.

Prior to this, Christopher worked at Dawnbreaker, Inc. as an HR Assistant/Specialist and eventually became the Functional Director of HR. Their responsibilities included managing all aspects of human resources for a federal contractor specializing in professional business services. Christopher played a key role in the hiring process, developed innovative healthcare solutions, and effectively managed health insurance expenses between 2008 and 2011.

Christopher Pels, Ed.D. has an extensive education history. Christopher obtained a Doctorate in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher University, where they studied from 2009 to 2011. In 2012 and 2013, they pursued a Leadership Coaching Certificate from McArdle Ramerman. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2008, they completed their Masters in Psychology at Medaille University. Their educational journey began at Roberts Wesleyan University, where they earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology/Sociology from 2004 to 2007.

In addition to their formal education, Christopher has also pursued various certifications. Christopher obtained a certificate in Human Resources: Strategic Workforce Planning from LinkedIn in April 2022. During the same month, they also completed a certification course called "Jeff Weiner on Establishing a Culture and a Plan for Scaling" through LinkedIn. Furthermore, in May 2013, they completed a Leadership Coaching certification program offered by McArdle Ramerman/University of Rochester.
