Mohamed Iqbal

Mohamed Iqbal has extensive work experience in various roles related to technology, cybersecurity, and information security.

Starting in 1998, they worked as a Network Engineer in the private sector until 2000. From 2000 to 2008, they were a Senior Specialist in Information Security at Etisalat, where they managed the entire information security architecture and network infrastructure.

In 2008, Mohamed joined the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) as a Project Manager, specializing in information security, risk management, and infrastructure management. Mohamed also led projects related to digital systems, implementing QR code payments in transport systems and business partner payment channels. Mohamed demonstrated expertise in managing information systems and security architectures, as well as business continuity for NOL systems.

Moving forward, in 2021, they joined LRQA as a Lead Auditor in Business Assurance. Later that year, they also joined Aiverz Technologies as a Senior Consulting Manager in Technology and Cyber Security. In this role, Mohamed provides consulting and advisory services for cyber security, SOC, SIEM, IT and OT security. Mohamed has been responsible for managing SOC operations for a reputed government entity, leading the implementation project for a global SOC, and designing and building SIEM architecture for a 24/7 SOC operations center.

Throughout their career, Mohamed has shown expertise in various aspects of information security, including ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, ISR & NESA frameworks. Mohamed has also conducted security testing for payment applications and has experience in web application security firewall (WAF) implementation. Additionally, they have implemented cloud platforms to support digital QR code payments and managed the security implementation for digital and e-wallet payments.

Mohamed Iqbal completed a Master's in Business Administration from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from 1992 to 1996. In addition, they have acquired various professional certifications, including but not limited to the Professional Cloud Security Manager, Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner, and Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals. Mohamed also holds certifications in information security and risk management from organizations such as ISACA and (ISC)². Furthermore, they have obtained certifications in IT service, business continuity management, and project management. Additionally, they have completed the TOGAF® Certification Program from The Open Group.
