Andrew Parker

Associate Professor Of Oboe

Andrew Parker is currently serving as an Associate Professor of Oboe at Louisiana State University since May 2024, following a tenure at Oklahoma State University where roles included Assistant Professor of Oboe, Graduate Coordinator, and Director of Summer Music Camps from June 2019 to May 2024. Previous experience includes positions as Artistic Administrator and Artistic Coordinator at Brevard Music Center, and performing as oboist with several orchestras, including Principal Oboe with Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra and Brevard Philharmonic. Andrew Parker holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Performance (Oboe) from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master's degree in Music Performance (Oboe) from Yale University, complemented by Bachelor's degrees in Music Performance (Oboe) and Music Teacher Education from Purchase College, SUNY, and Temple University, respectively.
