Brian Hanley is currently serving as the Edward McLaughlin Professor in engineering at Louisiana State University since 2017. Prior to this role, Brian held the position of Principal Engineer at Aspen Technology from November 2006 to July 2017, specializing in mass transfer and hydraulics for distillation trays and packings. Brian also served as Engineering Manager at Jaeger Products from March 1998 to July 2000, overseeing R&D, design, and engineering functions. Earlier in Brian's career, from 1988 to 1998, Brian worked as Principal Engineer at Air Products and Chemicals, managing operations of pilot plants and developing hydraulic and mass transfer correlations. Brian holds a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota and a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
