Chris Marvel

Chris Marvel is an Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University since August 2022, previously serving as a Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Lehigh University from August 2012 to August 2022. Chris completed a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at Lehigh University, focusing on the thermal and phase stability of nanocrystalline Ni-W. Prior experience includes technical expertise at GrainBound, LLC, and an undergraduate research fellowship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, where Chris investigated the safety of composite baseball bats. Additionally, Chris interned at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, comparing film thickness determination techniques. Throughout academia, Chris has contributed to teaching and developing lab projects, enhancing undergraduate education in modern microscopy and material properties.
