Ed Smith

Ed Smith is an established artist and educator with extensive experience in the art field. Currently, Ed serves as an artist at Spillman | Blackwell Fine Art since May 2022 and has been a painter and professor of art at Louisiana State University since August 1998. Previous roles include working as an artist at Soren Christensen Gallery from January 2002 to November 2016 and serving as a senior studio tech at Queens College from April 1989 to August 1998. Ed's early career involved being a preparator at P.S.1/Clocktower Gallery between 1987 and 1989. Ed holds a Master's Degree in Painting from Brooklyn College (1990-1992) and a Bachelor's Degree in Painting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (1983-1986).
