Jim Buras, CPA, has extensive experience in finance and administration, currently serving as the Assistant Vice President for Finance & Administration at LSU Board of Supervisors since January 2014. Prior to this role, Jim Buras was employed by the Teachers Retirement System of Louisiana from August 2009 to December 2013, where responsibilities included serving as both the Retirement Benefits Administrator and Audit Manager. Jim Buras began their career at the Louisiana Legislative Auditor, holding the position of Comptroller from September 1994 to August 2009. Jim Buras earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Louisiana State University between 1983 and 1989 and completed secondary education at Redemptorist High School from 1980 to 1983.
