Jonas Fontenot

Jonas Fontenot, PhD, is the President and CEO of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, where responsibilities include administrative and operational leadership across seven locations in southeast Louisiana and southwestern Mississippi. Additionally, Jonas serves as the Dr. Charles M. Smith Chief of Physics, overseeing a clinical physics and dosimetry group that supports a radiation oncology enterprise with ten board-certified medical physicists and numerous medical dosimetrists and residents. With a notable partnership with Louisiana State University, Jonas engages as an adjunct faculty member, teaching and supervising graduate research. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Medical Physics from UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, an MBA from Louisiana State University, and a Health Policy Fellowship from the American Society for Radiation Oncology. Prior experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant role at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
