LaKeitha Poole, PhD, LPC-S, CMPC, currently serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Psychology and Counseling at Louisiana State University, a role held since January 2010. Poole is also an Adjunct Instructor in the College of Human Sciences & Education and directs student-athlete mental health initiatives. Additional experience includes positions as Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Mental Health and for the Office of Multicultural Affairs at LSU. As the Founder and CEO of Small Talk Counseling & Consulting since August 2015, Poole has provided mental performance training and counseling services to athletes, including work with the Golden State Warriors from September 2021 to June 2022. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida State University, a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health from Louisiana State University, and a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from Regent University.
