Summer Steib

Summer Steib currently serves as the interim Associate Vice President for Diversity & Inclusion and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion/Women’s Center/LGBTQ+ Campus Affairs at Louisiana State University since August 2012. In these roles, Summer Steib consults and advises on issues impacting diversity and equity, facilitates training and workshops, and teaches Women's and Gender Studies at the undergraduate level while employing an intersectional framework. Additionally, Summer Steib works as a trainer and facilitator for the Louisiana Department of Justice, focusing on the intersections of identity and trauma. Previous experience includes serving as the Director of Education and Training at the Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center, where Summer Steib developed training programs on domestic violence and led community outreach efforts. Summer Steib holds an MA in Women's Studies from The University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
