Sunira Marahatta

Graduate Research Assistant

Sunira Marahatta is currently a Graduate Research Assistant at Louisiana State University, focusing on Spray Induced Gene Silencing (SIGS) for managing soybean fungal diseases. Prior experience includes serving as a Project Officer at Nepal Public Health Foundation, overseeing project planning and stakeholder engagement for the Farming, Health and Environment Nepal Project. Sunira has held positions as a Tutor at Professional Education Consultancy and as a Research Intern at both Nepal Agriculture Research Council and the Government of Nepal under the Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project, where fieldwork and data analysis were key responsibilities. Additionally, Sunira worked as a Science Instructor at Chitwan Intel Institute and Panorama Institute, developing course materials for undergraduate agriculture entrance examinations. Sunira holds an undergraduate degree in Agriculture from Agriculture and Forestry University and is pursuing graduate studies in Plant Pathology/Phytopathology at Louisiana State University.
