Thomas D. Demchuk

Adjunct Professor

Thomas D. Demchuk is an accomplished geoscientist with extensive experience in both academia and the energy sector. Currently serving as Assistant Vice President of Geosciences at WSP in the U.S., Thomas specializes in geological screening and permitting for underground injection control wells. As an Adjunct Professor at Louisiana State University, Thomas contributes industry insights to the Center for Excellence in Palynology, mentoring graduate students and teaching specialized courses. Previous roles include Business Development Manager at PetroStrat and RPS Energy, where Thomas focused on integrated stratigraphic services and biostratigraphy, respectively. With a strong foundation in palynology and organic petrography, demonstrated through roles at ConocoPhillips and AMOCO Production Co, Thomas holds a Ph.D. in Palynology/Organic Petrography from the University of Calgary and has made significant contributions to geoscience throughout a diverse career.
