Thomas Rooney has extensive experience in strategic communications and creative management. Currently serving as the Assistant Dean for Strategic Communications at Louisiana State University since May 2017, Rooney also operates as the President of True Creative Media, a media and creative services company, since May 2014. Prior experience includes Marketing and Creative Services Management at Alabama Media Group, where Rooney managed a statewide creative team and developed marketing plans for various media properties. Additionally, from November 1998 to September 2012, Rooney directed advertising production and creative operations for the Mobile Press-Register, overseeing a large in-house team. Earlier career experience includes a role as Marketing Manager at Mercantile Stores, Inc. Rooney holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Communications from Louisiana State University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
