Todd Johnson

Assistant Professor Of Forest Entomology

Todd Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Forest Entomology at Louisiana State University since September 2022, specializing in behavioral and chemical ecology with a focus on the interactions between trees, herbivorous insects, and their natural enemies within forest ecosystems. Prior to this role, Todd served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of New Hampshire from May 2019 to June 2022, investigating the effects of the invasive emerald ash borer on the defensive chemistry of ash trees and the subsequent impact on the fitness of the borer and its biological control agents. Todd's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where Todd also worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant from September 2013 to May 2019. Additional research experiences span multiple institutions, including roles at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of insect behavior, ecology, and plant-insect interactions.
