Tom Broom

Tom Broom currently serves as the Commissioner for the Governor's Advisory Commission on Coastal Protection, Restoration, and Conservation in the State of Louisiana, focusing on sustainable coastal ecosystem development. Broom holds multiple advisory roles, including positions on the boards of the New Orleans Mission, Louisiana Sea Grant, and Louisiana State University's College of The Coast and Environment. Broom previously worked as an Executive Account Manager at Danos and held numerous positions at Shell Exploration & Production Company, culminating in the role of Director of Coastal Issues. Broom's early career includes a stint as a professional football player with the New Orleans Saints, and Broom holds an M.B.A. and a Bachelor of Science degree from Nicholls State University, alongside executive education from the University of Southern California.
