Young S. has a diverse background in data analysis and data science. They started their career as a Junior Financial Analyst at Patrivalor SGIIC in 2016. They then worked as a Research Analyst at Korea International Trade Association, where they conducted research on import trends and provided market information to client exporters.
In 2019, Young S. joined McKinsey & Company as a Research Assistant, where they conducted qualitative research and analyzed market data to support consultants in the semiconductor industry. They also worked as an NLP Research Assistant at Yonsei University, collaborating on a project focused on building neural network models for question-answering tasks.
In the same year, Young S. collaborated with IBM as a Data Science Project Graduate Collaborator, working on a Natural Language Processing project using a consumer complaint database. They cleaned and preprocessed text data using nltk module and pretrained FastText word vectors.
Young S. then worked as a Data Science Fellow at Correlation One, where they led a team to develop a strategy for reducing driver churn and increasing driver lifetime value at Lyft. They performed exploratory data analysis, developed machine learning models to predict churn, and computed projected driver lifetime value using churn probabilities.
In 2020, Young S. joined BBRIDGED INC as a Data Science Consultant, and in 2021, they worked at HRCap, Inc. as a Data Science Advisor and Data Scientist, Digital Transformation (DX). In these roles, they provided insights to improve data collection and integrity, supported the creation of data entry manuals, and extracted and transformed candidate data for candidate databases.
From 2021 to 2022, Young S. worked at Better as an Associate and then as a Senior Associate in Business Intelligence. Finally, in 2022, they joined LTK (formerly rewardStyle & LIKEtoKNOW.it) as a Senior Data Analyst.
Young S. completed their high school education at Korean Minjok Leadership Academy from 2010 to 2012, obtaining a high school diploma. They then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics and Mathematics at Skidmore College from 2013 to 2017. In 2016, Young S. participated in a study abroad program at Universidad de Alcalá.
After completing their undergraduate studies, Young S. went on to pursue a Master of Arts (MA) degree at Columbia University from 2017 to 2020. Their specialization was in the Mathematics of Finance.
In addition to their formal education, Young S. obtained certifications in Data Science for All: Women's Summit from Correlation One in October 2020 and Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) from Bloomberg LP in January 2018.
