Chris Demiris has over 35 years of experience in software engineering and development. Chris began their career in 1984 as a Software Engineer for CompuSolv, where they specialized in communication interfaces for PBX, cash-register, movie billing, and central reservations products. In 1990, they joined ICIS, Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they led teams on large automation projects for TDK and Singapore Airlines.
In 1993, Chris co-founded Hollywood FX Inc., where they were the Vice President of Engineering and the primary developer of the Hollywood FX and Alpha Magic product lines, as well as Club Hollywood, an online content purchasing system for Club Hollywood. In 2000, Hollywood FX was sold to Pinnacle Systems, where Chris served as a Senior Principal Software Engineer. That same year, they joined Avid Technology Inc. as a Senior Principal Software Engineer, and later as a Senior Engineering Manager. At Avid, they led the development of Avid Studio for iPad, the new Motion Titler for Pinnacle and Avid Studio on Windows, and a new modern multi-platform GPU video processing engine (OpenGL and DirectX).
In 2012, Chris joined Condition One as a Principal Engineer, where they led the engineering team to complete development of a new high resolution immersive player, viewer application and SDK. That same year, they also joined Corel Corporation as a Senior Development Manager, continuing to design and develop GPU-based video processing technologies and mobile video editing applications. Finally, in 2013, Chris co-founded Luma Touch, where they served as the Co-Founder and Principal Engineer. Luma Touch was originally founded to continue the development of Pinnacle Studio for iPad, and to create new products for video editing and effects. Their flagship editing app, LumaFusion, has become the industry standard for truly professional editing and effects on mobile devices. Chris was also a founding team member of MedioSphere in 2013.
Chris Demiris attended Westminster College from 1986 to 1990, where they earned a BSCS in Computer Science and a minor in English. Prior to that, they attended the University of Utah from 1984 to 1985.
