Sondre Skatter

Sondre Skatter is a seasoned algorithm engineer with a diverse background spanning over two decades in technology development and data science. Currently serving as Principal Algorithm Engineer at Lumafield since March 2025, Skatter's previous roles include Technical Fellow at Liminal and Data Science Manager at Liminal Insights. Notably, Skatter was a key figure in establishing Smiths Digital Forge, leading a team of six data scientists to innovate algorithms and interfaces, particularly for an IoT system in the oil and gas sector. Earlier positions include Chief Algorithm Scientist at multiple organizations, where Skatter contributed significantly to advancing detection technologies and managing complex R&D programs. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Nondestructive Testing from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and a Master’s in Physics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
