James Spall is the CTO and Co-founder at Lumai, an Oxford University spinout that leverages 3D optics for developing a next-generation processor aimed at AI acceleration. Since 2022, they have played a pivotal role in advancing technology that enhances energy efficiency and accelerates AI-driven applications. James is currently a PhD student at the University of Oxford, where they have been studying since 2019. Previously, they gained experience as a Data Science Intern at Tails.com in 2019 and earned a DPhil in Physics from the University of Oxford. James also holds an MSci in Natural Sciences with a focus on Physics and Mathematics from Durham University, completed in 2019.
