Mike S. has over 13 years of work experience in the tech industry. In 2007, they began their career as a Teletext operator at Jennings Bet and then moved on to become an Integrations Developer / Junior Systems Administrator at Broadbean Technology. In 2011, they took a role as a Junior Unix System Admin at NET-A-PORTER.COM. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Linux System Administrator at Cisco Systems and Trinity Mirror Group PLC. In 2014, they became a Dev Ops Engineer with the Architecture Team at Interactive Investor. Since 2016, they have been with Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl), where they have held various roles including Vice President of Infrastructure, Head Of Technical Operations, Head of DevOps, and Devops Engineer. In their current role, they support legacy infrastructure built on EC2 instances managed by puppet and works to improve security by implementing VPNs and configuring the VPC correctly.
