Carl Mason

Carl Mason is the VP, Clinical at Lumen Bioscience. Carl has over 27 years of experience in the field of medicine, with a focus on infectious diseases.

Mason began their career in 1993 as the Assistant Chief of the Department of Retrovirology at AFRIMS. Carl then spent three years as the Chief of Infectious Diseases Research at the United States Army Medical Research Unit in Kenya. In 2000, they returned to AFRIMS as the Chief of the Department of Enteric Diseases, where they served for 14 years.

In September 2014, Mason joined Parexel as a Senior Medical Director. Carl remained with the company for seven years before joining Lumen Bioscience in April 2021.

Carl Mason has a Master of Public Health from The Johns Hopkins University in the field of Epidemiology, a Doctor of Medicine from Temple University - Lewis Katz School of Medicine in the field of Medicine, a Master of Science from The Johns Hopkins University in the field of Computer Science, and a Bachelor of Science from University of Maryland Global Campus in the field of Microbiology, General. Carl also has a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University - College of Arts and Sciences in the field of Chemistry.
