Kara Smith has extensive experience in storage and backup operations, currently serving as Sr Manager of Storage and Backup Operations at Lumen Technologies since March 2020. Prior to this role, Kara spent nearly two decades at Level 3 Communications, progressing through positions from Systems Administrator III to Infrastructure Engineer Principle, gaining expertise in SAN Administration, EMC systems, data center migration, and disaster recovery. Additionally, Kara contributed as a Storage+ Subject Matter Expert for CompTIA in June 2011, participating in the development of a new certification. Kara holds an Associate of Arts degree from Tulsa Community College, obtained between 1995 and 1997.
