Rick Spencer

Rick Spencer, NCE, SMIEE, is a Principal Engineer in Global Networks at Lumen Technologies, where they develop network architectures and evaluate long-haul optical technology. With thirty-nine years of experience in the communications industry, they have held various leadership roles, including Director of Planning and Engineering at Qwest and CenturyLink. Their tenure includes serving as Chief Engineer for the United States Air Force, where they were responsible for communication systems in the UK and Japan. Rick holds degrees from Idaho State University, the University of Maryland, and the Community College of the Air Force.
