Michael Cheng

Michael Cheng has a diverse work experience. Michael is the CEO and Co-founder of Lumen5, a video creator platform that has been recognized as one of Canada's fastest-growing companies. Prior to Lumen5, they co-founded Sniply and WittyCookie, where they served as the CEO. Michael also has experience as the Lead Organizer and TEDx Licensee at TEDxSFU. Before their entrepreneurial ventures, they worked in various startup roles.

Michael Cheng began their education in 2008 at Simon Fraser University, where they studied Interactive Arts and Technology until 2011. Michael then enrolled at the University of Toronto in 2012, focusing on The Next 36 program in the field of study. In 2014, Cheng attended Ryerson University's Digital Media Zone for a year. From 2018 to 2019, they pursued studies at The University of British Columbia's Creative Destruction Lab. Most recently, in 2019 and 2020, they completed the HyperGrowth program at BC Tech.
