Claudia Jaffe

Claudia Jaffe has an extensive work experience in the field of biotechnology. Claudia began their career in 1995 as a Senior Scientist at Caliper Life Sciences, where they managed enzyme assay development for corporate partners and coordinated collaborations between Caliper and partner scientific teams. In 2000, Jaffe moved to Protogene Laboratories as a R&D Manager and Senior Scientist, where they were responsible for technology management for DNA microarray PCR and Real Time microarray-quantitative PCR for expression analysis. Jaffe then worked at Molecular Nanosystems as a Biotechnology Director, where they directed R&D of carbon nanotube based biosensor and biochip products. In 2002, they joined Quantum Vision, Inc. as Director of Applied Chemistry, where they were responsible for fabrication optimization of proprietary RMA-CRT. Finally, in 2006, Jaffe co-founded Lumencor, Inc. and served as Co-Founder, Executive Vice President Business Development and Co-Founder & Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. In this role, they were an inventor and contributed to nearly all the company’s patents on novel lighting products, optical subsystems and bioanalytical scanners. Claudia was also responsible for new business development and building strategic relationships in developing markets for Lumencor’s novel lighting products in the life science arena.

Claudia Jaffe's education history includes obtaining a Liberal Arts Studies degree in Chemistry from Oberlin College in 1982-1985, a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Chemistry from McGill University in 1985-1987, and a Ph.D. in Bioanalytical Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987-1993. Claudia also holds a certification as Claudia B. Jaffe, Ph.D.
