Michael Torreyson

Michael Torreyson serves as the FHA Deputy Chief Underwriter at Lument, a position held since October 2020 following the merger of Red Capital Group and other ORIX Real Estate Capital brands. Prior to this role, Michael was the Deputy Chief Underwriter and Vice President at Red Capital Group from April 2016 to October 2020. Prior experience includes serving as the FHA Chief Underwriter at Arbor Commercial Mortgage, where Michael led a team in preparing applications for FHA mortgage insurance and became the first HUD Approved Chief FHA Underwriter under the new Delegated Underwriter Approval initiative. Michael's career also includes significant roles at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, including Supervisory Project Manager and Housing Project Manager, overseeing substantial portfolios and ensuring quality housing for families. Michael holds a Master of Public Administration from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Salisbury University.
