Chengkun Chen

Chengkun Chen has extensive work experience in the field of RF engineering, spanning over several decades. Chengkun started their career as a Project Manager/Electrical Engineer at the Shanghai TV & Broadcasting Technology Research Institute in 1988, where they worked until 1997. From 1999 to 2002, they served as a Design Engineer at Nortel Networks. In 2004, they joined Carleton University as a Research Assistant, a role in which they worked until 2008. Chengkun then moved on to the University of Ottawa, where they served as a Research Associate from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they joined NeoPhotonics in 2013 and held the position of Principal RF Engineer until 2022. Currently, they are employed as the Principal RF Engineer at Lumentum, a role they have held since August 2022.

Chengkun Chen holds a Ph.D. in Fiber Optical Sensors, which they obtained from Carleton University from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that, they received a Master's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from East China Normal University from 1985 to 1988. Chengkun also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same university, which they completed from 1980 to 1985. In 1998 to 1999, Chengkun pursued further studies at the University of Ottawa, but the specific field of study for their Master's Degree is not provided.
