Neil Whitbread

Neil Whitbread has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Neil began their career at the University of Glasgow as a Research Associate in 1994. Neil then moved on to GEC Marconi, where they worked as a Scientist from 1996 to 2001. Following that, they joined Bookham/Oclaro Technology as a Lead Scientist from 2001 to 2012. After leaving Oclaro Technology, they worked for Oclaro Technology as a Senior Principal Engineer from 2012 to 2021. Neil continued to hold various roles within the company, eventually becoming an Engineering Development Manager from 2020 to 2021. In 2021, they joined Lumentum as a Senior Engineering Development Manager, and within a few years, they became the Engineering Development Director.

Neil Whitbread earned their Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from The University of Sheffield between 1988 and 1991. Neil later pursued a PhD in the same field at the same university, completing it between 1991 and 1994.
