Luis Gisler is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in the automotive and autonomous vehicle sectors. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Luminar Technologies since December 2021, Luis has contributed significantly to developing LiDAR-exclusive Automatic Emergency Braking features for vehicles. Prior to Luminar, Luis held the position of Special Projects Autonomy Software Lead at Koenigsegg Automotive AB, where involvement included product design and securing financial resources for a startup focused on autonomous mobility. Previous roles included DevOps Engineer at YETI MOVE AS, where Luis developed a sophisticated autonomous vehicle management system, and Software Engineer at Semcon, contributing to an autonomous tractor project. Additionally, Luis worked as a CAE Engineer for Active Safety at Volvo Cars, developing simulation platforms for advanced driver assistance systems. Educationally, Luis holds a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering (with Honours) and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, both from Monash University.
