Matthew Weed

Matthew Weed is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in product strategy and technology development. Currently serving as Senior Director of Product Strategy at Luminar Technologies since January 2015, Matthew integrates product management and strategy to align customer needs with engineering capabilities. Previously, Matthew held the position of Director of Technology Strategy at Luminar, providing technical context to product development efforts. As a Technical Advisor at AireHealth from August 2018 to April 2023, Matthew contributed to innovative solutions for respiratory care management. Earlier roles include Director of Research and Development at Open Photonics, Inc., and various research and technical positions during his time at the University of Central Florida and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Matthew holds a PhD and an M.S. in Optics from the University of Central Florida, as well as a BS in Physics - Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
