Kurt Starkey

Kurt Starkey has a strong background in engineering and operations, with a focus on the lighting industry. Kurt currently serves as the Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Luminii, a position they have held since 2020. Prior to that, Kurt worked at Soraa as the VP and GM of Ohio Operations from 2018 to 2020, where they were responsible for setting up and running the Ohio electronics assembly and engineering facility. Kurt also worked at Rambus from 2009 to 2018, starting as a Sr. Manager of Research & Development and progressing to roles as Director and then Sr. Director of Research & Development. In these positions, they led various teams in the development and implementation of technical strategic plans, as well as advancing intellectual property and patents. Before their time at Rambus, Kurt worked at Global Lighting Technologies as a Manager of Research & Development from 2000 to 2009, where they managed a team of engineers and played a key role in the sale of a patent portfolio. Kurt also worked at Lumitex, Inc. as a Process Engineer in both R&D and manufacturing roles from 1996 to 2000.

Kurt Starkey has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Toledo. In addition to their degree, they have obtained two certifications. In March 2020, they obtained a certification in Additive Manufacturing for Business from LinkedIn. Kurt also obtained a certification in Humble Leadership: The Power of Relationships, Openness, and Trust (getAbstract Summary) from LinkedIn in March 2020.
