Neil Deeman has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Neil started their career at Verbatim in 1986, where they served as a Process Manager and led a team of process engineers. At Verbatim, they established qualification of 5¼-inch WORM disc manufacture at IBM and implemented SPC and JIT controls.

In 1994, Deeman joined Americ Disc - California as the Director of Technical Operations. Neil was responsible for establishing optical disc manufacturing for the CD-ROM gaming industry and implemented manufacturing and QC/QA controls. Neil also hired and trained a team of engineers to provide onsite technical support.

Deeman then moved to Quinta Corporation in 1997 as the Director, where they established manufacturing processes for 1st surface magneto-optical discs. Neil qualified three Japanese media suppliers using GAP closure planning tools and developed techniques for sustained flyability of miniature optical head.

In 1999, Deeman joined Seagate Technologies as a Technologist, leading media development efforts in servo patterned media, heat assisted magnetic recording, and bit patterned media. Neil added significant Intellectual Property to Seagate's portfolio and managed a team of 9 direct reports.

From 2003 to 2011, Deeman worked at Vmedia Research, Inc as the Director of Media Engineering. Neil directed all aspects of optical media development, characterization, and documentation. Neil established performance specifications, manufacturing capability, productivity improvements, and quality assurance programs. Deeman also managed suppliers, equipment, and raw materials.

In 2011, Deeman became the Director of Manufacturing at Intematix, where they focused on Remote Phosphor Technologies for Solid State Lighting. Neil established manufacturing capabilities for various processes such as plastic injection molding, extrusion, silicone molding, and phosphor coatings. Additionally, Deeman qualified contract manufacturers and developed optical testing capabilities.

From 2015 to 2016, Deeman worked as the Sr. Director of Product Development at Glo-USA. Here, they brought new LED display technologies to the market and developed manufacturing methods for RGB LED packages for edge-lit displays. Neil characterized optical and electrical performance of devices and measured coupling efficiency to light guide panels.

In 2016, Deeman started their own consulting business and worked as an independent consultant. Neil continued this role with different companies until 2018.

In 2018, Deeman joined Luminit Light Shaping Diffusers as the Director of Manufacturing Engineering. Neil was responsible for transferring new products from R&D to Manufacturing and improving existing manufacturing processes to achieve cost savings and increase yields and capacity. Deeman played a significant role in bringing new products to market and contributing to the growth of the company.

Lastly, in 2019, Deeman began working as an Independent Consultant for their own company, Deeman Company LLC.

Neil Deeman attended the University of Birmingham from 1972 to 1976, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with a major in Chemistry. Following this, they continued their education at the same university from 1977 to 1979 and earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Electrochemistry.
