Ray Sowiak is an experienced chemical engineer with a strong background in fractionation and distillation tower design, spanning over three decades in the industry. Sowiak currently serves as a Fractionation Specialist at Lummus Technology, with prior experience in similar roles at McDermott International and various other renowned corporations such as CB&I and Mobil Oil Corporation. As Director of Chemical and Mechanical Engineering at CB&I, Sowiak managed multiple engineering departments while actively contributing to tower internals design and process safety. With a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware, Sowiak has also founded a consulting company focusing on distillation design and has participated in significant projects across the oil refining sector.
