Julia Callender, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Scientist at Lundbeck since May 2022, previously holding the position of Scientist. Prior to this, Julia gained extensive experience at the University of California San Diego from September 2013 to May 2022, where Julia was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Pathology studying Prion diseases under the guidance of Dr. Christina Sigurdson, and earlier completed a PhD in Biomedical Research in the Department of Pharmacology under Dr. Alexandra Newton. Julia also completed a graduate internship in the Neurosciences therapeutic area at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson in early 2018, utilizing high-throughput imaging systems for pharmacology investigations. Julia's undergraduate research experience includes work at UC Santa Barbara under Professors Herbert Waite and B.S., along with an internship at the Leibniz Institute for New Materials. Julia holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from UC San Diego and a Biochemistry-Molecular Biology degree from UC Santa Barbara.
