Rasid Pac has worked in the robotics and engineering field since 2004. Rasid began their career as a Senior Engineer at TUBITAK, where they developed embedded software with C++/UML for real-time controllers of a hydropower plant, designed state machine based algorithms for automatic control of power plant operations, and developed automated test software for hardware/firmware verification and calibration. From 2009 to 2013, Rasid worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute, where they designed and built a state-of-the-art micro-assembly system, composed of 15 motion axes, microscope cameras, signal acquisition devices, and a LabView based computer control system. Rasid also designed 3D simulations of a robotic assembly cell including Fanuc LR Mate 200i robot, cameras, linear and rotary stages, tool chests, and part bins. Rasid founded and led the UTA Microrobotics Team, which participated in the NIST Mobile Microrobotics Challenge in 2011/2012 and came in 3rd in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, Rasid was an Automation Engineer at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), where they developed and commissioned mission-critical Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems such as for substations, micro-grids, and power plants. Rasid also designed algorithms for real-time automation controllers of large-scale networked control systems, human-machine interfaces, network and cybersecurity configurations, and protocol implementations for SCADA systems. From 2015 to 2019, Rasid worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Freedom Innovations, where they developed embedded systems for bionic lower limb prostheses comprising microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, wireless communication modules, user interfaces, and battery pack systems. Rasid also developed algorithms in C, C++, and Python for product design verification and testing, and implemented software development lifecycle and quality assurance processes. Currently, Rasid is a Senior Robotics Software Engineer at LUUM.
Rasid Pac completed their education history by earning their Ph.D. in Robotics and Automation from The University of Texas at Arlington between 2009 and 2012. Prior to that, they obtained their M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University between 2004 and 2007. Rasid also earned their B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University between 2000 and 2004.
