James Malone is a technologist and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in AI, semantics, and cloud platforms. Currently, they serve as the Chief Executive Officer of Luvida, while also working as a consultant and mentor to technologists and venture capitalists. Previously, Malone held significant leadership roles, including Chief Technology Officer at BenevolentAI and SciBite, where they led the development of innovative software solutions in bioinformatics and AI. They co-founded FactBio, which was acquired in 2017, and have contributed to various projects in ontology and metadata development during their time at EMBL-EBI. Malone obtained a PhD in Bioinformatics and Machine Learning from the University of Sunderland and an MSc from the University of Oxford.
