Lucien Hoffmann

Lucien Hoffmann is a seasoned science director at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) since January 2015, where Lucien also leads the Environmental Research and Innovation (ERIN) department. In addition, Lucien serves as an Académicien in the Section Biologie animale et végétale, Sciences de l’environnement at the Académie Lorraine des Sciences since April 2024, and is a member of multiple committees including the Environment Label Eligibility Committee and the Climate Finance Label Eligibility Committee at LuxFLAG since December 2017. Lucien is actively involved with Luxinnovation GIE, providing insights as a member of advisory groups for the Wood Cluster and Cleantech. Other roles include membership on the shareholders committee of PHOENIX OITB, presidency of the Institut Grand-Ducal's Section des Sciences, and participation in various committees focused on climate and scientific research, showcasing a strong commitment to environmental initiatives and research. Lucien holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Plant Sciences from the University of Liège, as well as a certificat in creating activities from university research.
