Billy Richards

Billy Richards is an experienced professional in the field of photonics and laser engineering, currently serving as Technology Stream Manager for Sub-Systems at Luxinar since June 2019. Previous roles include Senior Laser Engineer at Luxinar and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, where Billy managed research projects and supervised PhD students on substantial grants focused on photonics materials and biomedical sensors. Earlier experience includes a position as Senior Scientist at Glucosense Diagnostics Limited, where efforts were aimed at commercializing non-invasive blood glucose monitoring technology, and multiple fellowships at the University of Leeds involving the development of photonic materials and laser systems. Billy holds a Ph.D. in Optics from the University of Leeds and a BSc in Engineering Physics from Sheffield Hallam University.
