David Ashton is a seasoned Data Engineer with extensive experience in data platform engineering and analysis. Currently serving as a Data Engineer at Lyft since February 2024, David previously held the position of Lead Data Platform Engineer at Nasdaq from May 2023 to January 2024. Prior to that, David worked at KOHO as a Senior Data Engineer from July 2021 to April 2023, and also served as a Senior Data Engineer and Data Engineer at Nasdaq between November 2018 and July 2021. David began a career in finance as an Investment Analyst at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, where responsibilities included technology support for fixed income trading desks, maintenance of web tools and Oracle databases, and the development of trading assistance software. David also gained research experience as a Research Analyst at The Hospital for Sick Children in early 2012.
