Jared Wood

Jared Wood is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in autonomous systems and robotic technologies. Currently serving as a Level 5 Software Engineer at Lyft's Autonomous Vehicle Division since September 2018, Jared focuses on developing cutting-edge self-driving systems for ride-sharing. Prior to Lyft, experience includes working as a Research Software Engineer at Hadal, where software for autonomous deep-sea vehicle navigation was developed, and at Automa Aurora, contributing to semi-autonomous ground vehicle routing algorithms. Early career positions included roles at United Technologies Research Center and various research appointments at the University of California, Berkeley, where Jared engaged in projects involving autonomous aircraft and provided instruction in vehicle dynamics, programming, and robotics. Jared holds a PhD in Controls Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, along with an MS in Controls Engineering and a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Utah.
