Kanda Ishihara serves as Senior IP Counsel at Lyft since July 2021, where responsibilities include managing a global patent portfolio of over 1000 assets and advising business and engineering teams on intellectual property issues. Prior to Lyft, Kanda held the role of Director, Legal at Veritas Technologies LLC from September 2015 to July 2021, focusing on product counsel for data analytics and artificial intelligence. Kanda also worked at Patent Law Works LLP from March 2010 to September 2015, serving as Senior Corporate Counsel - Patents and later as Partner, specializing in patent prosecution and management. Additional experience includes roles at Leading Women in Technology as Chair of the Board, as well as positions at organizations such as Blossom Birth Services, Avistar Communications, Fenwick & West LLP, Morgan Lewis, Ariba, and Genentech. Kanda holds a JD from Santa Clara University School of Law and a BS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
