J.K. Jay

Founding Partner & President at LyonJay

J.K. has always had a passion for transforming raw land into communities where lifelong memories are made. As Co-Founder and President of LyonJay, his responsibilities include creating and maintaining relationships with the company's capital partners, selecting sites, overseeing project development, and underwriting new projects. To date, J.K. has secured One Billion Dollars in debt and equity commitments and is responsible for a current portfolio valued at over half a Billion Dollars. Before joining LyonJay, J.K. worked at a regional private equity firm where he acquired, developed, and redeveloped distressed residential and multifamily communities and single-family rentals. Later, he and his father founded The Jay Company, specializing in the development and brokerage of commercial properties.

As a former Clemson lineman and All ACC Academic Team honoree under Coach Dabo Swinney, J.K. is an excellent leader and team player. He is committed to creating great investment opportunities for LyonJay’s capital partners and developing top-notch communities where residents are excited to build their lives. Outside of work, J.K. enjoys giving back to his community by mentoring Clemson student-athletes, serving on the Board of Directors for Clemson’s Letterman’s Association, and serving on the Laurens County Transportation Committee. This year, J.K. was selected as a recipient of Greenville Business Magazine’s 2021 Best & Brightest 35 and Under.
